This underscores the reasons the Governor of Abia State Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu distributed car gifts to best performing teachers in the three senatorial zones in the State on the occasion of the children's day celebration on the May, 27th at the Umuahia township stadium.
The governor also consolidated on this gesture when he parceled out new technology teaching tools including iPads to teachers who just rounded off a training program with Precious Kids Education Empowerment, a non-government organizations based in Australia on Monday at the ASUBEB office, Adelabo street, Umuahia.
In his message while distributing materials, the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), Chairman, Mr. Kenechukwu Nwosu commended the teachers for showing total commitment during the exercise. He said that Dr. Ikpeazu being an education loving governor is putting every machinery in place to ensuring best practices in the sector through injecting ICT.
He maintained that in this jet age, the pupils need to be equipped with ICT base knowledge and affirmed that the Government has started the enlightenment campaigns and a step-by-step inculcating of the ICT knowledge to the pupils through these processes.
Mr. Nwosu reiterated that the governor has fulfilled parts of his campaign promises of putting smiles on the faces of the teachers and assured that more will be achieved subsequently to make all teachers feel the positive impart of the government.
The ASUBEB chairman said that the training will be continue with seminars to train and retrain more teachers on the use of ICT and urged the teachers to make best use of this opportunity.
