The Rivers State House of Assembly has commended Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for living up to his pledge to transform the state, stressing that they will always support the governor’s determination to improve the living condition of the people.
Speaking during an anniversary visit by members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on Tuesday, Speaker Dabo Adams said: "Our constituents are jubilating because of the several development projects across the state.
"As members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, we are privileged to be working under a governor who is committed to developing the state despite the financial challenges facing the state ".
He described the governor's first year as 365 days of action for the people of the state.
Responding, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike said that the successes recorded in his first year were made possible by the cooperation of the other arms of government.
He commended the Rivers State House of Assembly for passing bills and approving loans that have enabled his administration execute projects and pay salaries.
He urged the lawmakers to maintain the tempo of good governance, pointing out that the people expect from the state government in its second year.
He said: "We must continue to develop Rivers State as demanded by the people. Let's continue to cooperate in our second year to deliver on our campaign promises."
Highpoint of the anniversary visit was the presentation of a card and cake to the Governor by the members of the Rivers House of Assembly.
