Yes, We eat with this bear _what's the big deal?

Pardon me, will you please pass the honey?

Meals at this Russian couple’s home are always a wild affair, thanks to one special member of their family — a 300-pound brown bear named Stepan.

The hulking bruin is much smarter and friendlier than your average bear, as he likes to sip tea, read books and display his excellent table manners, say his owners, Svetlana and Yuriy Panteleenko.

“He absolutely loves people and is a really sociable bear,” Svetlana told Caters News Agency.

“Despite what people might think, he is not aggressive at all.

“We have never been bitten by Stepan.”

The Panteleenkos adopted Stepan more than two decades ago, when he was just a 3-month-old cub who had been found alone and lost in the woods by hunters.

The couple say the men who discovered Stepan worried for him because he had lost his mother.

“He was in very bad condition,” Svetlana said.

Stepan is now a strapping 23-year-old adult who stands 7 feet tall on his hind legs.

The couple raised the cub as their own, right down to taking each meal with him at their dinner table, where he sips from porcelain cups and eats from plates.

The bear scarfs down about 55 pounds of fish, vegetables and eggs a day. And despite his ferocious look, his favorite food is canned sweetened condensed milk.

“It’s a wonder he doesn’t eat us out of house and home,” Svetlana said.

The bear also likes to play and relax with the couple, doing everything from batting a ball around like a child to relaxing in the family room to engaging in some friendly wresting with Yuriy.

Svetlana said Stepan is even able to water the plants for her.

“Stepan likes nothing more than to cuddle up with us on the sofa at night while we’re watching television,” Svetlana said. “He’s got so many talents, and loves a picnic.”
